Lexington-After some struggles in recent years the Lexington Minutemen football program is looking forward to more success this fall. Leading the charge is senior running back and linebacker Cesar Cano who had a breakout season last year.
The 5’8 185 pounder rushed for more than 700 yards and had five 100 yard games last season. He also was solid at linebacker with 59 tackles and an interception. He talked with KRVN’s Jayson Jorgensen about his expectations for this season.
Cano has also excelled in wrestling. Last year he went 38-5 and qualified for the NSAA state tournament. The Minutemen will kickoff of the season on August 30th at home vs Holdrege.
