Burglary at Kearney Powersports – 10 dirt bikes stolen

The Kearney Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred at Kearney Powersports, 511 2nd Avenue south, on Wednesday, at approximately 6:15 a.m.

Kearney Police received a report that the front door of the business had been smashed to gain access to the building.

According to security video from Kearney Powersports and other local businesses, multiple suspects, all wearing masks, entered the business and removed 8 adult dirt bikes and 2 youth dirt bikes. The total value is estimated at $52,000. The dirt bikes were loaded into a box truck U-Haul which departed south on Highway 44 out of Kearney. The U-Haul truck had a picture of a moose on both sides.

The Kearney Police Department welcomes any information helpful in identifying the U-Haul truck and burglars or locating the stolen dirt bikes.
