BROKEN BOW – Another member of Broken Bow’s four time state champion girls golf team will continue competing at the college level.
Skylar Benjamin has signed to play for Iowa Western Community College next year. The Reivers have consistently been one of the top junior college teams in the nation for more than a decade. She said that history is what attracted her to the school.
Benjamin said she never would have guessed she’d play college golf as a relatively inexperienced player. She first picked up a club as a sophomore when she transferred to Broken Bow.
She was rewarded with the opportunity to be a part of multiple state championships and finished in the top 30 as an individual at the state tournament last fall.
She said it took a lot of work to get to that point.
Academically, Benjamin said she intends to pursue a graduate degree in speech pathology.
