Broken Bow seniors surge past Lexington

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Senior Legion baseball team pushed its winning streak to four straight with a 14-6 win over Lexington in five innings on Thursday.

Lexington got on the board with two runs in the top of the first inning, but Broken Bow answered with four in the bottom half. Lexington tied the game in the third, but Broken Bow pushed five runs across to take back the lead.

After two Lexington runs in the fourth, Broken Bow then pulled away with five in the bottom of the fifth to seal the victory.

Max Denson led the attack, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored. Dominic Nowak also tallied three hits and drove in two while Zach Loy and Owen Hartman added two RBI each.

For Lexington, Croix Leibert went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs while Mitch McFadden had a pair of doubles.

Broken Bow will be at home again this weekend, hosting Imperial in a seniors doubleheader on Saturday before the juniors and seniors both play Ogallala on Sunday.
