GOTHENBURG – The Broken Bow volleyball team picked up a big road win Thursday, holding off Gothenburg in five sets 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25 and 15-11.

Gothenburg started strong before Broken Bow took its first lead at 14-13 in the first set and pulled away. The next two sets were tight before Gothenburg took the momentum in the fourth set.

That carried over for a while as the Swedes jumped in front in the fifth, but Broken Bow battled back to take the victory.

Addison Ellis led the charge with 23 kills while Klarissa Dowdy added 11.

Gothenburg was paced by 15 kills for Lindly Anderson and 14 by Taryn O’Hare.

Broken Bow will be back in action at the Lexington Invite on Saturday while Gothenburg will host Ord on Tuesday.
