A Kearney woman is in trouble after police say illegal drugs were found at her
home, which is near a park.

Mariah Moreno, 33, is charged with Distribution of Meth Near a Playground, a
Class 1B Felony that carries a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

According to an arrest affidavit, investigators received a search warrant for
Moreno’s home in the 2200 block of 7th Avenue on October 10, 2024.

During the search, police say a bag containing methamphetamine was located in
the master bedroom.

The affidavit says police weighed the meth, which was noted to be around 53
grams.

According to authorities, Moreno’s home is located within 1000 feet of Pioneer
Park.

Moreno was already in jail at the time of the search after being arrested on an
unrelated drug charge days earlier.

Bond in her case was set at 10% of $100,000. She is due back in court on November 6, 2024.
