Lincoln-Nebraska’s secondary could certainly be one of the strengths of the defense going into this season. Five players with starting experience return led by sophomore cornerback Malcolm Hartzog. Defensive backs coach Evan Cooper who was a guest on sports nightly on Monday night says he is quite the player on and off the field.
Last year as a true freshman Hartzog was one of the bright spots for the blackshirts as he played in every game with eight starts. He led Nebraska with three interceptions while totaling 22 tackles, and two pass breakups. He also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against Indiana. The Huskers begin fall camp on July 31st.
