Elwood-Longtime Elwood teacher, coach, and administrator Kurt Banzhaf will be saying good-bye to Elwood this spring. Banzhaf and his wife Ronna will be leaving the community as he has accepted a similar position with the Riverside school district. Banzhaf says this wasn’t an easy decision.

In all, Banzhaf spent 31 years in Elwood starting with the 1992-93 school year. He taught 7th through 12th grade social studies during that time. Banzhaf also coached boys basketball for 22 years, and he coached track for 29 seasons. He also has been the activities director in Elwood the last 13 years.
