Axtell high school hosted the annual New West All Star Classic basketball games on Thursday night. The Loup Platte Conference beat the Southwest Conference 56-30 in the girls game. Kyra Wooden of Centura was the games MVP. In the boys game, behind 19 points from game MVP Monty Brooks Follmer of Cozad the Southwest Conference held on for a 56-51 win.
It was the RPAC boys winning 77-74 over the Fort Kearny Conference as Carson Trompke of Cambridge was the MVP with 22 points. In the girls game, the RPAC won it 67-49 over the FKC as Ann Bose of Southern Valley earned MVP honors with 14 points. These games benefit the Nebraska Kidney Association.
