The investigation continues into a early morning fire in Wilcox that claimed one life. A press release says Wilcox Fire Dept was called to a residence(309 E Franklin) around 2:47am Tuesday morning in regards to a structure fire.
After the fire was contained, a body was discovered inside the trailer. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death along with positive identification of the victim. However, no foul play is suspected at this time.
Minden and Axtell fire departments provided mutual aid. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office, Kearney County Sheriff’s Office along with the Kearney County Attorney’s office are conducting the investigation.
