Arrest Made in Connection To Waco Shooting

On March 02, 2024, at approximately 1900 hours, deputies with the York County Sherriff’s Office were detailed to Waco, Ne in reference to a physical disturbance which had escalated to a shooting. Upon their arrival, deputies located Brian Mulder (60) who had suffered a gunshot wound to his right arm. Deputies and Waco Fire & Rescue provided first aid to Brian who was eventually transported to York General Hospital for further medical treatment.

The investigation into the incident uncovered that Brian was involved in a verbal altercation which led to Brian assaulting the other party involved with a blunt object. As a result, the other party involved shot Brian in self-defense. An arrest warrant was applied for an issued by the York County Court for the arrest of Brian in relation to this incident.

On March 11th, 2024 officers with the Lincoln Police Department contacted Brian during a call for service and as a result took Brian into custody without incident. Brian was eventually transported and lodged at York County Corrections on the following charges:

  • 28-1205(1)(B)- Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony
  • 28-309 Assault 2nd Degree
  • 28-310 Assault, 3rd Degree
