Area boys subdistrict brackets

The 2024 boys subdistricts are set for classes C1, C2, D1, and D2. Area brackets can be found below.

On Tuesday, February 20, Holdrege (10-12) will face rival Minden (8-11) after Kearney Catholic narrowly edged out the Dusters and Whippets to host the C1-10 subdistrict. Holdrege fell 56-54 in their only matchup with Minden this season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 pm and KUVR’s coverage will begin at 6:45.

The C2-11 subdistrict is hosted by Amherst. The 19-2 Broncos will have to wait until Monday, February 19, to see who they’ll play between Hershey (7-14) and Hi-Line (9-11). Amherst took down the Bulls 57-40 earlier this season.

Gothenburg (15-6) and Cozad (19-4) will play each other for a third time this season in the C1-11 subdistrict hosted by Ogallala. Games will be played at Prairie View School in Ogallala. The Haymakers hold a 2-0 advantage over the Swedes after winning 49-38 and 49-41 in January. Their game is set for Tuesday, February 20, at 6:30 Mountain time.

The D1-8 subdistrict will be held in Axtell. The Wildcats (15-6) will play Franklin (3-15) in the first game on Monday, February 20. This will be the first meeting between the Flyers and the Wildcats this season. Wilcox-Hildreth (2-19) will face Pleasanton (5-15) in the second game. The Bulldogs defeated the Falcons 57-29 back in December.

Loomis got the edge over Southern Valley to host the D1-9 subdistrict. The Wolves (11-10) will play the winner between Bertrand (10-8) and Arapahoe (11-12) who face each other on Monday, February 19, at 6 pm. The Vikings won over Arapahoe 47-40 in their lone matchup of the season. On the other side of the bracket, Southern Valley (10-12) will meet up with Overton (10-11) on Tuesday, February 20, for the second time this year. Southern Valley came away with a 64-38 win in an early-season matchup between the two Eagles squads. Their game will begin around 7:45.

Elm Creek (14-7) and SEM (14-6) are headed to Shelton for the D2-7 subdistrict. They’ll face each other for the first time since the Buffaloes defeated the Mustangs 67-50 in December. Their subdistrict game will begin around 7:30 on Tuesday, February 20.
