Arapahoe Dominates in Home Opener

ARAPAHOE – The Arapahoe Warriors football team dominated in their home opener on Friday night against Bertrand, winning 67-6.

Things started out fast for the Warriors, scoring two touchdowns in sixteen seconds, one on a 55 yard rushing touchdown from Trenton Roskop, and another on a 41 yard pitch and catch from Roskop to Will Cacy. Bertrand turned the ball over twice in the first half, helping Arapahoe get out to the big lead. Cacy scored three times in the first half, Roskop scored twice, and Grayson Koller had three rushing touchdowns in the first half to help Arapahoe score on their first seven possessions to be up 53-0 at halftime.

The second half featured running clock from the start. Arapahoe scored twice thanks to a receiving touchdown from Alex Diaz and a 52 yard rushing touchdown for Clayton North. Bertrand would get their lone score late in the fourth thanks to a 40 yard rushing touchdown from Waylon Olesen. Arapahoe cruised late to win 67-6.

Arapahoe ran the ball 41 times for 344 yards. Cacy led the way, rushing eight times for 105 yards. Roskop had 88 yards on the ground, 41 through the air, and an interception as well. Bertrand ran 23 times for 115 yards, being led by Olesen who had seven carries for 71 yards.

Arapahoe improves to 2-0 for the fourth straight season and will host Arcadia/Loup City, Bertrand falls to 0-2 and will be at Brady next week.
