BROKEN BOW – The Custer County Ag Society approved a new board member to fill a vacancy.

Two people put themselves forward to be considered for the opening. After a brief executive session, the board voted to appoint Desirei Cook.

The board also voted to allow food trucks to set up at the fairgrounds with the City Square no longer an option for most. Vendors would be allowed any time except the week of fair and would be charged a flat fee of $35 per day, which matches the daily camper fee for the fairgrounds.

Also during the meeting, the board discussed the need to update its contract for the Mid-States Finals Rodeo after a dispute over the cost of gate passes that were provided to sponsors of the event last year.

With regard to entertainment, it was noted that Cooper James has officially been booked to perform two nights of the fair following both the bull riding and the bull fighting. Tazy Scott will also perform in the beer garden on Wednesday evening during fair week.

The board also voted to move forward with a tractor pull operated by Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling on Sunday, Aug. 11 at a cost of $15,000.
