20 Troopers Honored by MADD For Impaired Driving Enforcement

(LINCOLN, NEB.) — Twenty Nebraska State Troopers were honored Tuesday for their work to keep Nebraska roadways safe from impaired drivers. The troopers received the “Heroes Award” from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

“Every DUI arrest has the potential of saving lives,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “These troopers represent great examples of that life-saving mission. We’d like to thank MADD for their tireless advocacy to keep Nebraska roadways safe.”

Each year, MADD honors troopers, officers, deputies, and advocates from across Nebraska for their work to prevent drunk driving. Those honorees work in areas of enforcement, education and awareness, and advocacy. In total, 20 troopers were honored. Those troopers include:

In 2023, troopers arrested 1,187 people for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. So far in 2024, troopers have made 483 DUI arrests.

“As the summer months approach with family gatherings and community events, it’s critical that we all do our part to keep Nebraska roads safe,” said Colonel Bolduc. “If any of your summer celebrations involve alcohol, plan ahead and have a sober driver ready.”
