Senator Marshall’s Ag Liaison David Schemn joins the winter wheat tour this year keen to relay what the state of the crop is back to Washington D.C. Schemn knows first hand the struggles of Kansas wheat farmers this year as he is part of a multi generation farm in Wallace County. Dr. Martin Draper K-State professor and associate dean for research within the college of agriculture discusses winter wheat diseases facing producers in 2022 and why the drought may help prevent some disease. Aaron Harries with Kansas Wheat details the results of the first day’s field measurements. K-State Extension Specialist Jeanie Falk Jones comments on the struggles farmers in her area facing with the winter wheat crop in 2022. Vance Emkhe is a Lane County Kansas Farmer.
