A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ron Stevens will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by the Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team.

Ronald Gail Stevens, “Pepsi Ron”, 79 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on November 23, 2021, at the CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, Nebraska.  Ron was born on November 1, 1942, in Watertown, South Dakota, the eldest of two sons, born to Myron and Cleo (Lunde) Stevens.  He attended school at Vienna, South Dakota and graduated with the class of 1960.

Ron was inducted into the United States Army on December 15, 1960, and was stationed at Fort Hamilton, New York.  He received the Rifle Sharpshooter Medal and the Good Conduct Medal; but was most proud of his service as a Radio Operator in the Communications Department, while he was stationed at Shape Headquarters in Paris, France.  On November 27, 1963, he was honorably discharged and served in the Army Reserves until December 1966.

Ron pursued higher education from the DeVry Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from with a degree in electronics.  He lived in Chicago for a few years and then returned to Bryant, South Dakota, and operated the lumberyard.

In October of 1976, Ron was united in marriage to Judy (Kleinsasser) Moore. Ron lovingly accepted and raised Judy’s four children as his own:  Scott, Dawn, Bryan, and Todd, and together this union was blessed with one daughter, Shauna. They made their home in Spearfish, South Dakota for many years, until they relocated to Holdrege in 1982.  Ron worked for a short time for the cable company, and then began working for the City of Holdrege, as an Electrical Lineman.

The family spent many years fishing, camping, boating and spending time outdoors.  He was a huge Husker fan and also loved the Dallas Cowboys.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Marcie Seefeldt.

Ron is survived by his five children: Scott Moore and his wife, Jean of Castle Rock, Colorado; Dawn Fuecker and her husband, Trent of Holdrege; Bryan Moore and his wife, Teresa of Parker, Colorado; Todd Moore and his wife, Janel of Holdrege; and Shauna Stevens, of Holdrege; six grandchildren: Trenna Rager and her husband, Chris of Lincoln, Nebraska; Drew Fuecker and his wife, Nicki of Windsor, Colorado; Jennifer Ruby and her husband, Brian of Castle Rock, Colorado; and Carson and Dylan Moore of Holdrege; Arianna Prochazka of New Salem, North Dakota; five great-grandchildren: Quincy Lawrence, and Leigha and Lincoln Rager; Hayden Fuecker; and Jackson Ruby; one brother, Kim D. Stevens and his wife, Barb of Lake Poinsett, South Dakota; along with one niece, one nephew, extended family members, and many friends.

A memorial book signing will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Ron’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
