A memorial service for Angela L. Mattson will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at
Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Inurnment
will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska.
Angela Louise Mattson, 62 years of age, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on August 31, 2023, at
Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Angie was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on December 27, 1960, the second of
two children, born to Roger and Janice (Johnson) Mattson. She received her primary education from
Roosevelt Elementary School in Holdrege and later attended and graduated from Holdrege High School,
with the class of 1979.
Following her education, Angie worked at Becton Dickenson in Holdrege as a secretary. Later Angie
moved to Dallas, Texas where she was a nanny for her second family. She moved with them to Atlanta,
Georgia. There she found joy in teaching aerobics, and house and dog sitting for many friends who became
family to her. Angie loved baking and spending time with friends and family. Angie will be remembered for
her love of animals and her passion for caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Mattson and Janice Rosenthal.
Angie is survived by her father, David Rosenthal and his wife Lorane; her sister, Lori Means and her
husband Andy and their two daughters; stepbrother, Mike Rosenthal and his wife Linda and their five
children; stepbrother Todd Rosenthal and his wife Kim and their two sons; along with a host of other
relatives and many friends.
A memorial has been established in Angie’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later
designation.
