A Gering man is facing a variety of charges after a weekend traffic stop initiated by an illegal U-Turn.

A Scottsbluff Police sergeant pulled over 27-year-old Dalton Slunecka Sunday afternoon after hearing screeching tires, and made contact with him in a parking lot on Avenue A.

Court documents say that Slunecka smelled of alcohol, there were open containers in the vehicle, he was stumbling, and had defecated himself. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, and proceeded to kick a nurse.

Slunecka is being held on a $45,000 bond as he faces charges of DUI, Assault on a Health Care Professional, and refusal to submit. He was scheduled to make his first appearance on the charges Monday afternoon in Scotts Bluff County Court.
