Authorities say a 29-year-old Scottsbluff man died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident late last week.
Banner County Sheriff Zane Hopkins says his office was notified of the accident on Highway 88 about four miles east of the Wyoming line around 6 a.m. Friday morning.
He says the investigation with State Patrol assistance determined a Ford sedan was eastbound between 1 and 2 a.m. when the driver, Jaimin Mesa, lost control, causing the car to leave the roadway and roll several times.
Hopkins says Mesa was not wearing a seat belt and had been ejected, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed and alcohol were being investigated as possible contributing factors.
