A Gering man found guilty of several charges involving the sexual assault of a minor will spend decades in prison.

Last Friday, Jeremy Fulton was sentenced to not less than 45 years, and no more than 60 years, with a mandatory minimum of 15 years, on his conviction for First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.

District Judge Andrea Miller gave Fulton credit for 303 days time served, which also applied to a concurrent sentence of 15 to 20 years on another child sex crime charge.

Those prison terms will run consecutively to convictions on four other counts, including felony Knowing and Intentional Child Abuse, meaning Fulton would not be parole-eligible for more than 31 years, assuming no loss of good time credit.

Charges were filed last November following an investigation that started when the teenage victim told a school official about the alleged incident, who then alerted CAPStone and law enforcement officers.

In July, it took a Scotts Bluff County Jury just over an hour to find Fulton guilty on all six charges in the case.

Fulton was also ordered to be subject to lifetime community aupervision if and when he’s released.
