A lawsuit has been filed against the semi driver and his employer following a May 5th fatal crash in Sidney.
Gurjeet Singh and Kirat Roadlines are defendants in a civil case in U.S. District Court for the District Court of Nebraska.
Singh ran a red light and struck a vehicle, killing Lori Wiens and injuring two children at the Link 17J/ Old Post Road intersection.
The lawsuit, filed by Scottsbluff attorney Maren Chaloupka, is seeking more than $75,000 in compensatory damages, punitive damages, and costs of the lawsuit to be covered.
The plaintiffs in this case are requesting that this trial be tried to a jury in North Platte.
