A celebration of the life of Ted A. Beery will be held at the Broken Spoke, Minatare, Nebr. This Wednesday, April 3rd, at 2:00 pm. Please join us and bring your favorite stories and photos to share.

Ted was born August 9, 1943, in Villisca, Iowa, to Nick Beery and Mildred (Hunt). He was preceded in life by his brother LaWayne M. Beery, with whom he remained close his entire life. He attended the Iowa School for the Deaf until his graduation. He married Diana Probst in 1961 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, with whom he had 4 children: Theresa, Traci, Tammy and Willy. He married Joann (Shively) Beery on Nov. 1, 1969 in York, Nebraska and welcomed 2 more children into the family, John and Calvin.

Ted was known for his sense of humor and love of a good laugh, a good toast and a good party. He was a mechanic by trade, beginning his love for working on cars by maintaining and racing hot rods with his brother LaWayne and Gary Borgaila. He owned his own body shop for 30 years. Ted loved his family and spending time with them. Happiest outdoors, he loved fishing and camping and a good bbq.

Ted passed away on March 30th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Beery; father, Nick Beery; his mother, Mildred Cavender and his sister-in-law, Anita Beery. He is survived by his brother, LaWayne Beery (and Elaine); and daughters Theresa Linder (and Craig), Traci Patzner (and Tracey), and Tammy Robertson as well as sons Willy Beery, John Bloemer and Calvin Olds. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He will be missed.

Ted’s celebration of life gathering tomorrow is an opportunity to gather, reflect upon and celebrate together in the wake of his immediate passing. A memorial service will be planned for some time this summer.
