Louis Frank Vito Schiavone, 69, of Bayard, Nebraska, died on August 6, 2021. Born October 24, 1951 in Buffalo, New York, Louie – as he was known to his family and friends – died while riding his beloved motorcycle, one of his favorite pastimes. Louie is survived by his children, Jen Schiavone (Travis Hall), Michael Schiavone (Mayo), Laura Magnuson (Lucas), and Theresa Schiavone; sister Yvonne Ferraina, brothers Tom (Deb) and John (Jennifer) Ferraina, and sister-in-law Gloria Schiavone; as well as three grandchildren, five nieces and nephews, and a slew of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Louis was preceded in death by his father, George; stepfather, Frank Ferraina; mother, Theresa Ferraina; brother, Michael; and son, Joseph.
Louie grew up in Buffalo and relocated his young family to Denver, Colorado in the early 1980s, eventually settling in Bayard, Nebraska with his youngest daughter. Louie was a general contractor and builder by trade, but was also an exceptional artist, woodworker, and musician. Before studying art at Villa Maria College, Louie graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in Tonawanda, New York and had just returned from his 50th high school reunion where he spent several weeks with family and lifelong friends. Everywhere Louie went, he collected a tribe of close friends and cultivated a community centered around music and art. His sudden and tragic passing leaves holes in the hearts of people in every place he’s called home. Louie will be remembered for his charisma, love of a good pun, animated laughter, unique views on life, creative soul, tender heart, zest for a game of pool, incessant jam sessions, pride in his Italian roots, and total adoration of anyone he held near and dear.
