Kandi Kalean (Frame) Keller passed away on March 21, 2024.

Kandi was born on September 3rd, 1964 to Neva (Owen) and Lonnie Strodtman of Scottsbluff.

She grew up in Harrisburg and graduated from Banner County High School in 1982. She loved country living, raising her animals, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Yet, the thing she loved most was being a mom.

She married her first husband shortly out of high school and in January of 1983, had her first child, a son. About a year later, she moved to Wyoming, and in February of 1986, she had her second son. Kandi moved back to Nebraska and met the gentleman who would become her second husband. In October of 1988, she gave birth to her third son.

In the late 1990s, she moved to Maine where she would eventually earn her associate degree in

Business Accounting at the University of Maine, Augusta. But it was in October of 2000 that she would give birth to her fourth and final child, and only daughter. They moved back to Bayard,

Nebraska in 2012 and resided there for the rest of Kandi’s life.

Kandi was preceded in death by her mother, Neva (Owen) Joslyn; sister, Koni Gilgen; grandparents, Dale and Elnora Owen; grandparents, Raymond and Betty Strodtman; Uncle,

Raymond Owen; former husband, Jerry Keller; step-parents, Dennis and Doris Kenzy; and several other aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Amber) Miller, Brian (Danielle) Miller, Christopher Keller, and Mikayla (David Sterzer) Pinkham; Grandchildren, Jasmine, Nevaeh, Adyn, Shyanne, and Shaw Miller (Keith), Kristyn, Braylee, Grayson, and Zayden Miller (Brian), Rayven Keller (Christopher), Penelope Sterzer and any future children (Mikayla); Sisters, Kori (Mark) Quinn, Rae Anne (Jeff) McLaren, Christine Graves; younger brother, Lonnie Dean (Talia) Strodtman; and father Lonnie Strodtman. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who love her very much.

A celebration of life will be held in Kandi’s honor the weekend of July 13th and 14th at Lake Minatare Recreational Area. There will be storytelling, memory-making, and only happy tears.
