Greta Edgington, 91, of Gering completed her journey here peacefully Friday morning May 3 at Heritage Estates. Greta was born June 22, 1932, in Aurora, Nebraska to Harold D and Myrtle Mae (Melcher) Larsen. In 1942 the family moved to Ogallala where Greta attended school and graduated from Ogallala High School. She attended college at Duchesne Academy in Omaha where she earned her teaching degree and then taught elementary school in Ogallala for three years.

She married the love of her life, USAF pilot Dean Davis and moved with him to Oklahoma, then to Maine where eldest daughter Donna was born, then to England where middle daughter Debra was born and then returned to civilian life in Ogallala where youngest daughter Dorothy was born. Following the death of Dean in an accident, Greta married Richard Edgington and the family moved to Gering in 1965.

Greta will be remembered for her kindness and empathy toward animals, her artistic flair with decorating and crafts, and her devotion to the well-being of her family and friends.
