The 3rd annual Resistol Rookie Roundup played host to the top 15 first-year Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association cardholders in each event, giving them the chance to compete for $100,000 in prize money.

The Cornhusker State proudly sent two cowboys to the event held April 26-27 at the historic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.

Boyd Sawyer of Thedford, and Tucker Ravenscroft of Nenzel both competed in the steer wrestling, finishing second and fifth, respectively.

In addition to competing in the rodeo, contestants were provided with opportunities to learn from seasoned professionals and attend roundtable events. Mentors like 5-time World Champion steer wrestler Luke Branqhino were in attendance to spend time with rookie athletes. Media and sponsorship trainings were also available to first-year card holders.

Resistol Rookie of the Year titles are some of the most coveted awards in professional rodeo. The accolades will be awarded to the rookie athletes with the most money won at the end of the rodeo year in their respective events.
