COMSTOCK – After 23 years, the Comstock Windmill Festival will hold its final concert series later this week.

The festival’s creator and promoter, Henry Nuxoll, says he’s ready to retire and that like most other things prices have gone up to the point that many top acts have become unaffordable.

Over the years the festival has featured as many as 25 CMA Award winners, many when they were just beginning their careers. The festival has attracted more than 500,000 visitors from across the U.S. and beyond.

Looking back on the festival’s history there’s one moment in particular that stands out for Nuxoll.

LeDoux’s son, Ned, will be the final artist to perform at the final Windmill Festival on Saturday. Other country hitmaker’s in this year’s lineup include Mitchell Tenpenny, Shane Profitt and William Michael Morgan, along with Extreme Bull Riding on Saturday.

The festival will run from Thursday through Saturday. The full lineup and ticket information can be found online at WindmillFestival.com.
