Area basketball players named all-state by Omaha World Herald

Several area basketball players have been named all-state by the Omaha World Herald.

For the boys, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller’s Jace Rosentreader earned first team honors in Class D2. Rosentreader averaged 16.4 points and 14.7 rebounds per game for the Mustangs, who finished fourth place at state with a record of 18-9.

In Class D1 Ansley-Litchfield’s Luke Bailey was a second team honoree. The junior averaged 18.3 points and 5.3 rebounds to help the Spartans to a 20-4 record and a trip to the state tournament.

Among the girls, MaKinley Tobey of Broken Bow was named to the second team in Class C1. Tobey averaged 18 points and four rebounds to lead Broken Bow back to state and a 19-5 final record.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller’s Mikah O’Neill received a second team nod in Class D1. O’Neill led the Mustangs with 16.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and three assists as SEM went 20-5 for the season.

Dayle Haake of Sandhills/Thedford was chosen for the first team in Class D2. She averaged 17 points and 11.1 rebounds as the Lady Knights returned to state for the first time since 2018, finishing with a 21-5 record.
