Wayne State hosts Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul this weekend in NSIC South Division men’s basketball matchups in Rice Auditorium as the Mavericks play in Wayne Friday at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Saturday contest vs. CSP at 3:30 p.m. The Wildcats are tied for first in the NSIC South with Sioux Falls at 11-7 in the league and 16-8 overall. MSU comes to Wayne at 15-9 and fifth in the NSIC South at 9-9 while the Golden Bears start the weekend on a four-game win streak and are 8-16 on the season and 6-12 in league play. Earlier this season on the road, WSC recorded a 77-73 win in St. Paul (12/9/22) followed by a 96-89 loss the next night in Mankato against the Mavericks.
Wayne State returns to Rice Auditorium this weekend for NSIC South Division home games against #14 Minnesota State Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday in a 5:30 p.m. contest for Senior Day. The Wildcats are 11-11 on the season and fifth place in the NSIC South with a 7-11 record. Minnesota State is 19-3 overall and tied for first in the NSIC South at 15-3 while Concordia-St. Paul starts the weekend one game ahead of the Wildcats in the NSIC South at 8-10 and 11-11 overall. Earlier this season, WSC won 62-53 at Concordia-St. Paul while losing at Minnesota State 98-59.
