GACC/West Point-Beemer Baseball blanked by Malcolm in C-1 District Final

MALCOLM – The GACC/West Point-Beemer Patriots faced the tall task of taking down defending Class C State Champion and powerhouse Malcolm in the C-1 District Final at Malcolm Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The task proved to be too tall for GACC/West Point-Beemer, however, as the Clippers won 15-0 in 5 innings.

After scoring a run in the bottom of the 1st inning, Malcolm scored seven runs in the 2nd and seven more in the 3rd. The seven-run 2nd inning was highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Mason Wiesniski.

The Patriots had just three hits in the game with Bryce Bailey reaching base safely on two separate occasions.

Maddox Meyer improved to 7-0 for the Clippers, pitching a three-hit shutout while going the distance.

Logan Rolf suffered the loss on the mound for GACC/West Point-Beemer, giving up 6 runs in 1 1/3 innings.

Malcolm improves to 19-3 and advances to State next Saturday where they will look to defend their title while the Patriots end their year at 9-8.
