The Winnebago Boys Basketball Team fell 80-33 at Ashland-Greenwood in last Friday night’s regular season finale before losing 73-65 to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder in the C1-7 Sub-District Play-In Game at Wayne last Monday night to end the year.

Jeff’s Ashland-Greewood Recap:

The Bluejays staked claim to a 21-6 lead after one, and outscored the Indians 20-12 in the 2nd quarter to take a 41-18 lead into the locker room. Ashland-Greenwood outscored Bago 28-3 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 69-21 at the end of three. The Indians won the 4th quarter 12-11. Caden Brownrigg had 8 points while Ashton Lapointe totaled 7.

End of Season Synopsis:

Winnebago ends their year at 9-12. The Indians say goodbye to Cashus Kearnes, Howard Bassette, Timothy Lapointe, Santonio Nieman, and Melaki George. Key returners include Brownrigg, Rahkim Free-Bass, Lavelle Smith, Rachman Free-Bass, and Ashton Lapointe. I think there are a lot of good, promising, returning players for next year. I definitely feel as if next year will be better than this year for the Indians. I look for Bago to work hard this offseason and have a nice season in 2024-2025. These kids have to be gym rats and play ball as much as possible, and I think that will be the case this summer.
