The West Point-Beemer Girls Basketball Team lost 50-48 at Wisner-Pilger on Saturday before upsetting Pierce 45-43 at home Tuesday night.
The Cadets and Gators were tied at 13 after one, and West Point-Beemer won the 2nd quarter 13-12 to take a 26-25 lead into the locker room.
Wisner-Pilger won the 3rd quarter 18-12 to pull in front 43-38 at the end of three.
The Cadets won the 4th quarter 10-7.
Campbell Snodgrass had 22 points while Allie Kaup totaled 20 points and 8 rebounds. Addison Toelle added 8 boards while Mia Hunke notched 7.
Kaup registered 17 points and 7 rebounds against the Bluejays while Snodgrass posted 16.
What a great win for West Point-Beemer Tuesday night! Wow!
The Cadets (9-7) take on Wayne (9-9) on the road Thursday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Blue Devils lost 56-47 at home to Hartington Cedar Catholic Friday night.
This should be one heck of a battle.
This is one of what could be two meetings this season as I could see these two playing in Sub-Districts also.
It’s always an intense battle between these two.
I think whoever wins this one Thursday night will have the mental advantage should the two teams meet again in Sub-Districts.
And in West Point-Beemer’s case, if they can prove to themselves that they can win at Wayne once then they certainly would have to believe they can do it again should the Sub-District be in Wayne.
Lots of things left out there for this team to achieve and accomplish yet this season.
The win over Pierce was great and amazing, but the Cadets can’t still be stuck on that win come Thursday.
It’s one thing to win at home, it’s another to win on the road so West Point-Beemer has to bring their “A” game come Thursday night.
Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
