Overview:
The Stanton Girls Basketball Team looks for an even better year this year than they had last year. 8th year Head Coach Greg Wegner lets us know who all makes up his varsity roster this season.
Coach Wegner says the team didn’t do as much in the offseason, but the girls really grew during the Volleyball season, and that should help coming into this year.
Coach Wegner adds he thinks the team will compete well this season.
I would agree with Coach Wegner. I feel like the Mustangs will be a better and stronger team than they were a year ago.
Season Outlook:
Stanton looks to have a good season this year. The Mustangs will look to get off on the right foot on Friday at Howells-Dodge. Coach Wegner says the Jaguars will be tough.
I think this game should be pretty good and feel like Stanton has what it takes to get the job done.
The Mustangs are in Sub-District C2-6 with Wisner-Pilger, Clarkson/Leigh, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, and Lutheran High Northeast.
That figures to be a pretty tough Sub-District, but I like to think that Stanton is a pretty tough team and will be battle tested come season’s end.
I think when you look at the Mustangs’ Schedule it is tough in the beginning, but favorable in the 2nd half.
