Overview:
The Stanton Boys Basketball Team expects big things this year and has high expectations under first year Head Coach John Schmidt.
Coach Schmidt takes over the program for Cole Beebe, who coached the team for two seasons.

Coach Schmidt says his team has some real solid kids coming into this year.
Coach Schmidt adds the team looked really good together when they had everyone together this summer.
The Football Team had a ton of success in the fall, and I think that can and will carry over into Basketball.
These kids know how to win, and I think the Mustangs could back to being the type of team this program has seen in the past.
Season Outlook:
Stanton looks for a great season this year. Coach Schmidt says executing will be important and key.
I think the Mustangs could be one of the standout teams in the East Husker Conference this year, and could make some real noise this season.
Stanton opens up the season at Howells-Dodge on Friday. Coach Schmidt says the Jaguars are tough customers.
The Mustangs are in Sub-District C2-5 with Clarkson/Leigh, Norfolk Catholic, Lutheran High Northeast, and Madison.
Coach Schmidt says they will see every one of these teams in the regular season.
I think that will be a benefit and a good thing for Stanton.
The Sub-District is very tough and loaded though so that makes the regular season that much more important for the Mustangs.
I look for Stanton to go about 5-3, maybe 4-4 before the Holiday Break, and then pick up quite a few wins in the second half of the season as the schedule lightens up.
