The Knights led 7-5 after one and outscored the Falcons 11-4 in the 2nd quarter to take an 18-9 lead into the locker room. O-C won the 3rd quarter 11-9 to extend their lead to 29-18 at the end of three. The Knights won the 4th quarter 11-6. Sonya Guzinski had 14 points while Morgan Ray totaled 11 points and 7 rebounds. Briar Ray added 7 points and 9 rebounds. Head Coach Scott Guzinski says his team really came to play and got after it defensively.

State Tournament Game Preview:

Oakland-Craig (16-5) takes on Elmwood-Murdock (24-1) in the first round of State at 3:15 Wednesday afternoon from the Devaney Center in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull. Elmwood-Murdock won 52-45 over Ainsworth in the C2-3 District Final from Boone Central Friday night.

Jeff’s Take on the Game:

This is a very interesting matchup for me. Yes Elmwood-Murdock has the better record, but they haven’t played that tough of a schedule. Oakland-Craig has played a very difficult schedule and is battle tested. The Knights have the State Experience too. I really think O-C has a good chance to win this one. It should be a great game and State ride for this team, and I’m excited to see what the Knights can do at State this time around.
