March 5th, 2024 | Jeff Axtell

The North Bend Central Girls Basketball Team lost 51-39 to Lincoln Christian in the 1st round of State from the Devaney Center Thursday morning.

Jeff’s Game Recap:

The game was tied at 11 at the end of one before the Crusaders outscored the Tigers 19-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 30-17 lead into the locker room. NBC won the 3rd quarter 9-6 to make it a 36-26 game at the end of three. Lincoln Christian won the 4th quarter 15-13.

End of Season Synopsis:

North Bend Central’s season ends at 17-9. It was a really slow start to the year for the Tigers, but North Bend Central came on really strong at the end of the season. To make State for a 6th year in a row is absolutely amazing, and these girls should be extremely proud. The Tigers say goodbye to Cassie Burbach and Josie Cleveringa. Key returners for next year include Lauren Sterup, Reese Petersen, Lindsey Emanuel, Mckrae Schmidt, Mia Beebe, Emma Rangeloff, and Jayla Van Ampting. North Bend Central should be real solid again next year with a lot of this year’s team back, and should have a chance to make State for the 7th consecutive year.
