Senior pitcher Kamryn Meyer was tabbed TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Peak Pitcher of the Week after two stellar performances last week.
The Wilton, Iowa native pitched a pair of seven-inning complete games against Creighton and St. Thomas. Against the Bluejays, Meyer allowed one run on seven hits while striking out nine batters. In the series opener against St. Thomas, Meyer struck out 15 batters and allowed just one run on four hits. The Senior ace struck out her first batter on Saturday which brought her career total to 600. Meyer sits just 75 strikeouts shy of the all-time program record.
Meyer’s 15 K performance on Saturday is the second time she has reached that mark this season. She is 7-5 on the season and has thrown eight complete games so far this campaign. She boasts at Summit League best 1.21 earned run average while her 119 strikeouts also leads to conference. Her 14 earned runs is the fewest earned runs allowed in the Summit League.
Meyer and the Mavericks will meet the Shockers of Wichita State in a one-and-done road game on Wednesday before welcoming North Dakota for a three-game series this weekend at Connie Claussen Field.
