The Howells-Dodge Boys Basketball Team knocked off Wakefield 68-51 in the C2-4 Sub-District Final from Wisner-Pilger last Thursday night before downing Cross County 63-47 in the C2-7 District Final at home Monday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Jaguars led the Cougars 15-7 after one. Both teams scored 14 points in the 2nd quarter, and Howells-Dodge led Cross County 29-21 at halftime.
Both teams scored 12 points in the 3rd quarter, and the Jaguars held a 41-33 lead at the end of three.
Howells-Dodge outscored the Cougars 22-14 in the 4th quarter.
Blake Sindelar had 32 points while Gavin Nelson totaled 16. RJ Bayer added 7.

Howells-Dodge (23-3) takes on Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (25-1) in the first round of the State Tournament at Lincoln Northeast Monday afternoon in action that will be aired on the Bull.
The Bulldogs routed Maxwell 81-33 in the C2-1 District Final at Broken Bow on Saturday.
H/LHF beat the Jaguars twice in the regular season, including once in Howells.
The Bulldogs have certainly had Howells-Dodge’s number the past couple of years, but as I said in my post at the end of last year the Jaguars have to go for the Gold this year.
Beating H/HLF doesn’t ensure a return trip to the final by any means, but beat the Bulldogs and you have an opportunity to get back to Championship Saturday and win a State Title.
The Football and Volleyball Teams did it in the Fall, now the Boys Basketball Team has to follow suit.
The Jaguars have had a great season, and have to go out there and play out of their minds come Monday and after that if they advance.
I think Monday’s game will be close, compelling, and highly entertaining so you will want to tune in.
