The GACC Girls Basketball Team won 44-30 at home over Norfolk Catholic in the C2-2 District Final last Friday night.
The Bluejays led 11-4 after one, and outscored the Knights 15-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 26-12 lead into the locker room.
GACC won the 3rd quarter 13-12 to extend their lead to 39-24 at the end of three.
Norfolk Catholic won the 4th quarter 6-5.
Heck of a job by the Bluejays getting back to State!
GACC (25-1) battles Oakland-Craig (18-7) in the first round of State at Lincoln Southeast Tuesday evening in action that will be aired on 107.9 the Bull.
The Knights won 49-36 over Gordon-Rushville in the C2-8 District Final from O’Neill last Friday night.
Oakland-Craig has some big wins this year having beaten the likes of North Bend Central, BRLD, and Elmwood-Murdock.
The Bluejays have to be ready to play the way they were against Wisner-Pilger.
In other words, GACC has to bring their “A” game come Tuesday.
The Bluejays have to be in full State Tournament mode, and go out there and go for a State Title.
GACC got on the favorable side of the bracket so I look for the Bluejays to get to the State Championship with a good chance of winning it all if they can get past the Knights.
Oakland-Craig is really good though, and will be a very tough and difficult team to beat.
GACC can definitely get the job done though as they have been there and done that many times before.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the Bull.
