The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Girls Basketball Team won 61-30 at O’Neill last Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull before downing Hartington Cedar Catholic 48-29 at home last Saturday.

In the O’Neill game, GACC got off to a slow start, but still led 13-10 after the 1st quarter, and 25-17 at halftime.

The Bluejays implored a full court press in the 2nd half and started the 3rd quarter on a 17-0 run on their way to a 45-23 lead at the end of three.

GACC outscored O’Neill 16-7 in the 4th quarter.

Adyson Luebbert paced the Bluejays with 14 points while Kelsy Steffen was also in double figures with 13. Reese Throener added 7.

Two really nice wins for GACC.

The Bluejays (15-1) take on Boone Central (7-13) in the first round of the Mid-State Conference Tournament at home Tuesday night.

I look for the Finals to come down to GACC and Crofton like it often does.

Something new this year though the Semifinals and Finals are being played at Pierce so that could certainly help Pierce as they can’t be counted of this tournament.

It should be one heck of a tournament that’s for sure.

I’m excited to see how it all unfolds and plays out.
