On the strength of a big third inning offensively and another strong start from Carter Reisig the WESTCO Zephyrs earned a 11-3 home win in six innings over Torrington on Tuesday night.

After Torrington scored a run in the second and two more in the third the Zephyrs bats came to life in the bottom of the third inning. The Z’s started the inning going single, single, double, single, single, and double off Torrington starter Ayden Desmond.

Oscar Felix had a two run single, Mical Villagrana a rbi single, and then later in the inning a two run single for Thatcher Thomalla.

The seven run outburst was more than enough to back starting pitcher Carter Reisig, who improved to 2-0 on the season as he pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts. Reisig retired the final 10 batters of the game including strikeouts of the last five batters he faced.

Reisig has 20 strikeouts in his first two outings of the year.

In the bottom of the sixth inning the Z’s bats came alive for four more runs with an RBI single for Jahrell Mendez and then Thomalla walked it off with another RBI single to end the game.

The Zephyrs got multi-hit games from Villagrana, Thomalla, and Mendez as they improved to 3-1 on the season.

WESTCO plays a road game tonight at Douglas WY, a team they beat on opening night at Cleveland Field, 12-5.
