The WESTCO Zephyrs had the tough assignment of playing Cheyenne Post 6 on Tuesday night at Cleveland Field in Scottsbluff.

In the third meeting of the season it was the Sixers winning it 11-3.

It was a 1-0 game through five innings but then Post 6 scored 10 runs over the final four innings including a crooked number in the eighth when they plated four runs.

By design the Z’s wanted to use their top three pitchers to get some innings ahead of the Area Tournament next Friday; Moi Panduro started and went three innings allowing one unearned run then Carter Reisig let up two runs over three innings before Oscar Felix got touched up for four runs in two innings.

At the plate Thatcher Thomalla had a pair of base hits as did Jahrell Mendez. The loudest at-bat of the night came from Ryan Hinman who rocked a opposite double that hit high off the fence in right center field.

The Zephyrs dropped to 19-22 on the season while Post 6 improved to 55-12.

The Z’s will play their regular season finale next Tuesday at Bear Creek, Colorado.
