Wyoming’s Secretary of State is raising alarms over a proposal to make a shift in the handling of mail in the Cowboy State that could have an impact on elections.

Chuck Gray has sent a letter to U.S. Postal Service Postmaster General Louis DeJoy opposing the Postal Service’s plan to move mail processing operations from Cheyenne to Denver, which followed a USPS review of the Cheyenne facility.

In a news release, Gray said as Secretary of State, he’s concerned the proposal threatens the integrity of the our electoral process and delays the processing of election mail.

He says in addition to requesting that the Postal Service withdraw the proposal, he wants clarification as to the status of election mail if the plan moves forward.
