The Western Nebraska Community College Foundation received $10,000 from Nebraska Machinery Company to provide scholarships for students in the Diesel, Truck & Heavy Equipment program at WNCC.

This scholarship will be awarded to help with tuition, fees, or purchase of tools required for the program. Priority is given to full-time students.

“We are excited to add this Diesel Technology Scholarship to increase access to education for WNCC Diesel Technology students,” WNCC Foundation Executive Director Jennifer Reisig said. “This is one of many ways our community is helping students succeed.”

Since the program began in 2021, NMC has supported WNCC to help the program grow and succeed. In the first three years of the program, NMC and matching funds were used to purchase equipment to help students have more access to hands on experience.

“The equipment has made a huge difference on the learning outcomes,” Diesel Technology Instructor Wayne Lund said.

Devin Reber, 2024 WNCC Diesel Technology graduate said of NMC’s support of him during his time at WNCC, “They have been incredibly supportive. They helped give me a jump start and set me up for a career.”
