Western Nebraska Regional Airport Adds Second Fixed Base Operator
November 17th, 2022 | Dave Strang

A second Fixed Base Operator, or FBO, will be joining Valley Airways at Western Nebraska Regional Airport in providing aviation services with the addition of Robbins Aviation as an FBO.

Essentially, FBOs act as private terminals for general aviation aircraft.

Airport Director Raul Aguallo told KNEB News they were able to creatively split some of the current facilities between Valley and Robbins.

This will provide Robbins Aviation with a facility that will accomodate their flight school, and provide fuel, mechanical services and other FBO ammenities.

He says they are required to try accomodating anyone who desires to become an FBO. Aguallo says they did that, and he thinks the transition will be pretty good.

While noting that two FBO’s trying to share the same customer base will be challenging at times, he believes the two will sort things out.

Robbins Aviation will be located in the facility formerly used by Valley Airways, while Valley will remain in it’s current location in the west wing of the main terminal building.
