Plenty of baseball for area teams this weekend as the Western Nebraska Pioneers plus both the WESTCO and Gering legion teams are on the road.
Gering Platte Valley Companies got their weekend started last night with a 6-5 win in eight innings on the road at Broken Bow as they improved to 12-4.
Bo Gable delivered the game winning RBI single in the top of the eighth inning and finished with two RBI in the game while Kelan Dunn drove in three runs.
Jackson Howard started on the mound for Gering and pitched into the seventh inning allowing just three earned runs while striking out four. The win on the hill went to Isaiah Murillo, who worked a clean 1 1/3 innings out of the bullpen.
Gering will continue their road trip with games today at Aurora and tomorrow at Nebraska City.
