A bench warrant has been issued for a Bridgeport man who failed to appear this morning for sentencing in Morrill County District Court.
In July, 30-year-old Dakota Abel pleaded no contest to charges of Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person and Disturbing the Peace. That stemmed from a November incident where Abel reportedly fired a rifle in the air during an altercation.
Sentencing had been set for 10:30 Monday morning with Judge Andrea Miller, but Abel- who had posted 10 percent of his $20,000 bond- failed to appear.
The signed warrant for his arrest was issued following the no-show at sentencing.
