SCOTTSBLUFF/GERING- Adams Central and North Platte picked up wins in their respective brackets over the weekend at the Twin City Invite.
In the silver bracket, North Platte picked up an opening round win over Alliance, 2-1, and advanced to take on Sidney, who won over Mitchell, 2-1. North Platte moved past Sidney, 2-0, to advance to the bracket championship against St. Thomas More. STM won their matches against Scottsbluff, 2-1, and Burns, 2-0, to get to the championship.
North Platte went on to get the, 2-0, win over STM to win the silver bracket. While Scottsbluff defeated Sidney, 2-0, in the third/fourth place match, and Alliance defeated Torrington, 2-1, in the fifth/sixth place match.
In the gold bracket the Adams Central Patriots got a, 2-0, win over Chase County to open up their Saturday. The Patriots went on to also sweep McCook in their next match to advance to the gold bracket championship against Grand Island Northwest. Northwest previously picked up wins over Gering, 2-1, and Ogallala, 2-0.
Adams Central went on to sweep Northwest, 2-0, to capture the gold bracket championship. McCook downed Ogallala, 2-0, in the third/fourth place match, and Chase County defeated Gering, 2-0, in the fifth/sixth place match.
