University of Nebraska President Jeffrey Gold concluded a a statewide tour Friday at the Panhandle Research Education and Extention Center.
Gold told the roughly 60 people in attendance that he his honored to serve in his newly appointed post.
“I come at this with a true sense of humility. I had a terribly bad case of imposter syndrome, and I get up in the morning, I look in the mirror and say, How can a kid who grew up in the city of New York without two nickels to rub together ever become the ninth president of this great university system?,” said Gold. “And I don’t know how that happened. But I do know this. It is an awesome and critical responsibility for the state of Nebraska.”
